3. Mix the contents of the container thoroughly using a spoon or spatula.
4. Observe the mixture for the formation of an emulsion, which will appear as a stable, homogenous mixture with a creamy or milky appearance.
5. If an emulsion forms, this indicates the presence of oil in the food sample. If no emulsion forms, this suggests that the food does not contain oil.
