In a computer, output refers to the results of the computer’s calculations and processing, which can be presented to the user in various forms. There are two main types of output: softcopy output and hardcopy output.
Softcopy output is digital output that is displayed on a screen, such as a computer monitor or smartphone display. This type of output is temporary and disappears as soon as the power is turned off or the device is closed. Examples of softcopy output include text displayed on a computer screen, images displayed on a smartphone, and video displayed on a television.
Hardcopy output, on the other hand, is output that is printed on a physical medium, such as paper or film. This type of output is permanent and can be stored for later reference. Examples of hardcopy output include documents printed from a computer, photographs printed from a digital camera, and tickets printed from an online ticketing system.
