    1. Functionality: A bridge is a device that connects two or more local area networks (LANs) together, allowing devices on one LAN to communicate with devices on the other LAN. A router, on the other hand, is a device that connects multiple networks together and routes data packets between them.
    2. Protocol support: Bridges operate at the data link layer of the OSI model, and are typically used to connect LANs that use the same protocol. Routers, on the other hand, operate at the network layer and can support multiple protocols, allowing them to connect different types of networks together.
    3. Network segmentation: Bridges are used to connect LANs together and do not segment the network. Routers, on the other hand, are used to connect different networks together and can segment the network into smaller, more manageable segments.
    4. Address resolution: Bridges use MAC addresses to determine which devices are on the LAN and forward data packets accordingly. Routers use IP addresses to determine the destination of data packets and route them accordingly.
